for sale, used Remo surdos

Tagged As: Used Drum Set For Sale

Question:
Three 24 X 22 Remo sudaos for sale. Color - Gold. Drumkey tuned. List price, $405 each will sell for $175 each plus you pay shipping.

Answer:
Surdos --not the typo sudaos-- are a cross between a floor tom and small bass drum: a baritone drum if you like. REMO makes three different sizes [the ones listed above are the largest] each of which can be carried/worn via conventional drum slings. You play them using either two mallets, or one mallet and your free hand used as a ring damper/tone modifier of sorts. Used out of character, surdos also make killer tom-toms for those drum set players who like to see their audience's ears bleed occasionally. Just to expand on what you were saying about Surdos. They are the Brazilian Bass drum. When you listen to a samba, you'll here the booms on every beat. That is a surdo player. Or, actually, probably like 50 of them. But, either way, you get the point. They are cool to use if you have a bunch of percussionists and you want to keep a strong beat, but not be tied down to a set.
