Tagged As: Drum And Bass Video

Question:
I've been worrying for a while now but after the past weekend I have come to realize that my fears are a reality. Where the fuck are we going with this music called drum and bass? I am a die hard. I love drum and bass but even I come to a point where enough is enough. There is so much good drum and bass out there. Why the hell are we only getting to hear the same shit day in day out?

Answer:
PREACH ON BROTHA!!!!! I love drum'n'bass so much and have literally NEVER heard it at a rave. Its a fuckin crime and shit. WE have great local talent here in Miami and we aren't ashamed to have them at our events. Damn Grrl13, T-Farmer, PreShaCrew! and all the other locals are always represtend at our parties! Everywhere you go is the same problem. Either too dark or too happy. Nothing is ever balanced. I thought we had come far enough to realize that a good night is a balanced night. Every promoter just wants to have the biggest headliner who is featured in the most magazines. Do you realize that the magazines that actually cover these artists don't cater towards the people that actually go out to listen to drum and bass? Promoters have forgotte biggest names on the biggest flyers. That's bullshit! that flavor of music can be developed and exposed quicker. However it is absolutely no good for the scene if nobody does anything else. It is even worse for the scene if massives feature headliners or line-ups which put people to sleep or offer the very same thing every one else is offering. For Christ's sake, all you promoters should give drum and bass a chance and quit milking it dry. UK talent and doing absolutely nothing for the incredibly gifted performers we have right here. At least in Philadelphia, we should have no problem bring together 500 people for all local talent but we do. Sutpen's Jungle brought together 2500 people for an all drum and bass event. AT 5.30am 75% of the crowd was still there going nuts. Check out this link for yourself: you up. Come together and organize quality events from the ground up. That means that you need to feature local talent. Actually do some fucking market research when you put together a line-up. Actually concede to not knowing about drum and bass and allowing those who do know make sure things are done right. You can only gain at the end of the day. Their are so many people who have been around for so long who know what to do. Just beca of competence to run a proper drum and bass party. Promoters need to listen to what the djs have to say. Again they have some knowledge and experience. Amongst the djs themselves, please accept the fact that some djs know more about the way things should or may be done than others. You can't expect to be the man if you have only been djing 9 months. Promoters, please get a grip. Yeah, you see the sudden rise in press for certain prod more money on stateside talent and promotions and spend money wisely on the UK talent. There is so much good shit out there. PS I have trouble even finding good drum'n'bass on the internet and at stores
