Freeware drum machine

Tagged As: Free Ware Drum Machine

Question:
I've started fooling around with digital recording, using a Toneport UX-1 and Audacity as my recording software. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a decent freeware drum machine that will allow me to set up a beat which I can record to a track in Audacity and then put guitar/vocals over it?

Answer:
You can download the program for free but you cant save any projects. Its a great idea for a demo. I haven't tried recording it to other programs but its free & fun to play with, even if you cant record. I'd second Hammerhead. Real easy to use. You can download different drum patches from the website. I think another free one is called Hydrogen, or smthng like that. Search the hammerhead forums for it. Fantastic software and I use it to help me write patterns for my zoom mrt3 drum machine.
