Roland V-Club Set Electronic Drum Set Views?

Tagged As: Roland Electric Drum Set

Question:
Ok, I have mix feelings about electronic drums, thats why I'm posting this message and trying to find out some inquiries before I make my purchase. I'm wanting to buy an electronic set and since I prefer the natural set over the electric, I just want to see what some of you might think. I've heard and I have respect for Roland and there products, its just what do you guys think about the v-club set. I like to have a set to where I can practice and not pull out my equipment and also so I wouldn't have to make a lot of noise. Has anyone have any trouble with this set and what cool stuff can you do with it? I like the sounds that it has, but it feels cheap, in the pad sense, but other than that I like this set. What do you guys think? !-- end question -->

Answer:
If you like the feel of acoustic drumsets, then I would advise that you go with those. Electric drums do not duplicate the sound or feel of acoustic drums. If you're worried about sound, you can buy (or make) Sound-off's for your set. They're basically a mousepad-like material that sit on your drums and cymbals. Also, the Roland V-Club set will put you back about $1,300. Compared to acoustic drums, you could get a Pacfic LX (All maple, lacquor finish) set for About $1,100, or if you're willing to spend a little extra, the Pearl SRX Session series (excellent semi-pro set) would probably run you about $1,500
