Question:
What turned out to be a simple project has turned into a friggen personal quest now. It's real simple. I am looking for Ludwig drum heads to put on my Ludwig kit. Simple enough- right? Wrong! I called all my 6 surrounding Ludwig dealers. No luck there. So I called the mail order places. I called Midwest Percussion, Drums in the Wind, Interstate Percussion, Steve Weise, the Drum Pad in Chicago, and still no luck. Nobody stocks them. It's so funny cause they were just featured in the June issue of MD. So I called Ludwig. They said the warehouse in N.C. didnt have all the sizes I wanted at this time, so the thought of having the drum heads drop shipped to me was a no-go also. I know there has got to be some dealers out there who have my heads in stock. But I dont have all week to make a million long distance phone calls to find out. I have a bunch of gigs comming up. The first is this Friday. I was hoping to have the heads by then.
Answer:
know at my store my boss ordered some. Ludwig heads aren't very popular (and I don't think an MD article will make them) so not many places will stock them. Order them from your favorite store, and just sit back and chill. It's weird that Ludwig doesn't have them in stock because those aren't really weirdo sizes (try looking for stock 15 heads---arrghh!!). Interstate has them listed in their catalog and they usually list only the stuff they stock. Jack Lawton carries them as well. His number is 570-988-0655
