Question:
Was there a period of Fender manufacture that did not have the logo on the headstock? I have in my sights a design Fender Hot Rod '57 Stratocaster but it hasnt the logo on the headstock. so i am a bit sceptical on its authenticity. It has a Samarium Cobalt pu's at the neck and middle and Dimarzio Tone Zone at the bridge. What appears to be a Floyd (or something compatible) with allen key retainers at the nut (locking tremolo?). And a pearl pick guard.
Answer:
the only time fender didn't have a full logo was on the infamous no caster (tele design) but Fender was still on the headstock it was just the 'Broadcaster' (the model) part of the decal was removed. But AFAIK - all Fender Stratocasters ever made have both Fender and Stratocaster in the decal. (depending on the year the decal design and the fender logo changed somewhat... spaghetti logo to bolder logo etc..)
