Has anyone had a chance to play the new DeArmond/guild guitars?

Question:
Has anyone had a chance to play the new DeArmond/guild guitars. I've only seen the catalog, my local dealer does not have them in yet.

Answer:
I've played several of the new DeArmond guitars. I played a les-paul type one with a Bigsby and one without, A Starfire II-type, and a Starfire IV-type. Nice guitars. Very well put together. Excellent fretwork and binding. The pickups really have a great sound. The les-paul type guitars had a nice warm sound and were obviously hollowed out guitars due to the low weight. I was most impressed with the Starfires, though. They had a great sound with those weird DeArmond pickups. I really liked the jazzy warm sound that would really break up a tube amp when cranked. My guess would be that these guitars are made in the Epiphone (Samick) Factory. Something about them seemed Epi-like.
