Question:
I am primarily a guitar player who seconds on bass once in a while. I currently have an extemely cheap/extemely cheezy Kent throwdown bass.

Answer:
That would be a Fender Musicmaster bass, produced 1970-1981, which is indeed short (30 inch) scale. Gibson's EB-0 and EB-3 are also short scale.

I use since a short while an Epiphone EB O short scale bass. Real good sound, very easy to play, and not expensive at all. You should try one of those.

I am in the market for a short string bass (female) with short fingers. I am looking at the Ibanez Gsrm 20. Any comments anyone? I am looking for big bass sound not a toy sound. Any recommendations?
