Question:
Ok, here's a strange request and I'm hoping someone out there can help me.. I need someone to record just the acoustic guitar part of Tangled Up In Blue for me on CD. Several years ago, I wrote alternate lyrics to that song for my wife for Valentine's Day. My idea was to learn that song on acoustic guitar, but alas, my guitar skills are noticeably absent. So I just kind of did a half-assed job singing it to her acapella. Anyway, for our 5 year anniversary, I'd like to get someone else to record the guitar part for me. Then (and I assume this is technologically possible) I will the guitar part on my computer while I sing into a microphone and record it on the hard drive, then burn it to CD. (If anyone can give me instructions for that, I'd very much appreciate it!) And don't think I'll be pawning the work off as my own, because my wife knows I can't play guitar. Anyway, if you can help, please email me at Treefarn @ yahoo.com (remove the spaces) (And yes, I know it’s a Dylan song, but I figured I'd have better luck here).

What a nice idea, very cool! I'm a drummer, not a guitarist, so I can't help you out, but it's definitely possible to lay your vocal track over an acoustic guitar track. You'll probably need specific software such as Pro Tools to do it though. I think your best bet is to find someone who has such software and knows how to use it, and also plays guitar. They could lay down that track (be sure you let them know how many verses you have) directly into the computer, then have you sing your part, and put them together quite easily.
