Question:
Steve plays bass guitar on some of his solo albums. Although Steve shines on guitar, is there any track that features his bass playing which could be described as inspired or noteworthy? I can't think of it. I just wonder why he felt the need.
Answer:
I remember Trevor Horn saying that when he was producing Welcome To The Pleasure Dome, that the bass player couldn't manage what they were trying to do, so he got Steve Howe to do some of the parts. I have some idea in my head the the opening to Two Tribes is Steve Howe on bass. Whether I'm right and whether you think that's particularly noteworthy is another matter.
