How does the twelve string bass work? A twelve string guitar has six strings, each one doubled with an octave higher. In the picture inside the new version of at Budokan it seems like it is a four string with each string tripled. How is this tuned then?

A 12-string is tuned eeE aaA ddD ggG. The two higher strings are tuned the same one octave higher than the regular bass string.
