Tagged As: 12 String Bass
Question:
I was wondering....is this the nature of 12 strings?? No one around here has any experience with them. I was thinking of having ANOTHER nut cut, and maybe having the frets dressed to see if that helps. The bottom line is.. I don't have anything to compare it to, nor do I have any experience w/ a 12 string. I want whatever it takes to make this bass play great, and don't know what to do. Does anyone have any advice? Does Tom have a 12 string guru that works on his basses? If so, who? There is one guy in town that I haven't taken it to yet. He is my last, and best hope locally. But I'm sure he doesn't have any experience w/ 12 strings either. However, he IS a bass guy. So, it's hard to tell

Did it play ok before you took it to him? Why did it need a set up? On my Hamer's I have to keep adjusting the truss rods because it changes more than a regular guitar.. But we're talking a slight turn of each to make it play right. If you want it to play low and easy, you may have to put up with a little bit of string buzz..
