I'm looking for a 12 string acoustic. Play mostly by myself for my own enjoyment. I'm looking at either a Fender DG-14s-12 or DG-16E-12 or Takamine G-335 (EG-335 A/E). The difference is about $150-$200. The Takamine comes with a case. The Fenders don't and are less costly for it. I've heard good and bad of the Fenders. I've heard nothing but great stuff on the Takamines. Anyone have any recommendations? I want low action and great quality right out of the box.

The Takamines are great for an inexpensive 12 string. You might also check out the Yamaha 412 series - we've got a Takamine, but I think I like the Yamaha even better. The other thing to do is look around for a used Guild. The Guild 12 strings are really in another league. The Fender is too lacking in tone to be interesting.
