I've been attached to my 5 string bass since I got it. I've been working on some songs for an acoustic set and would like to play an acoustic bass for it, but have only found 4 string acoustic basses that have any quality to them.

Well, I see that Carvin sells what looks to be a very nice 5 string acoustic bass. It is listed in their catalog for $769 and you can get it fretted or fretless. I've heard that their electric basses are quite good, but have not heard good or bad about their acoustics (in their catalog they show Chris Squire (YES) sitting down holding a 4 string acousic, and Eddie Jackson (Queensryche) playing one).
