Question:
The best 12 string guitar I ever played in my life was a Guild, in mahogany and spruce, that I ran across at the music store attached to the Old School of Folk Music in Chicago, in 1979. The body was shaped like the usual Guild jumbo, but was smaller.
Answer:
Well, no- but Dave Stutzman told me of that model when I was on my year long search for an OM sized 12. From what I recall, he said that Guild had made them for a short while but they didn't sell so the model had been discontinued. Never ran into one though.......... For over a year I had every local music store and several that I had contacted on the net, to keep an eye out for a good sounding OM sized 12. I traveled hundreds of miles trying out 12s and even ordered 3 different guitars that I subsequently returned, before I found one that didn't sound like it was stuffed full of socks. My point? Small bodied 12s that are desirable are few and far between
