I was wondering what people think of the Epiphone Basses. I am looking for a Gibson EB-2 and Epiphone make a copy of it called the Epiphone Rivoli. I can get the Gibson (if i find one) for about $1000 US and a new Rivoli for $900.

The bargain lines of Gibson (Epiphone) and Fender (Squier) tend to be foreign made with lower quality woods and electronics used in their manufacture. Given a price difference of $100, I would definitely go with the (I'm assuming used) Gibson since:
