If I could get a 335 that was a Custom Shop-built guitar, how much of a premium should I be expected to pay? Let's say I could get a sunburst, mid-80's 335, in very good shape, but obviously played, for $1200 - $1400 used at a shop or on eBay - how much for the same basic guitar (dot neck, stainless hardware, factory Grovers) but a Custom Shop?

AFAIK, the custom shop, at that time, consisted of guitar makers who didn't choose to go to Nashville at the time of the Gibson move (at least that's what I was told). The guitar plays well enough, but my '64-5 335 (stolen) buried this one in workmanship .....
