Question:
I get this magazine from Japan called Guitar magazine. Opened it up this morning and low and behold a full page Gibson ad that we will never see in this country. Gibson ES-175 from the Gibson Custom shop: looks like an exact recreation of a late 50's blond single pickup 175 with the zig-zag tailpiece and Kluson tuners. Nothing like their production model. At first I thought that it was a vintage 59 175. Price is 'open' according to the ad. How come Gibson won't let us buy them in this country?
Answer:
You can order one of these in exactly the same manner the store in Japan does--have your dealer request a quote from the Gibson Custom Shop
