Is this a common problem with acoustic basses?

Tagged As: Ibanez Acoustic Bass

Question:
recently purchased an Ibanez acoustic bass and am insecure about my decision. I am thinking of trading it in for a Fender acoustic and am not sure if it is worth it. The problem with the Ibanez is sound, it sounds great plugged in but when it is not plugged in the sound is faint and barely heard. Is this a common problem with acoustic basses?

Answer:
I chose the Ibanez over the Fender, because I thought its sound was better both plugged and unplugged. You're going to amplify either one of those basses, the unamplified sound is immaterial. I think the Ibanez is the better instrument. The Fender has a 30 scale, the Ibanez 32. The Ibanez has a better pickup and preamp. Stay with what you've got, it's fine
