Question:
I've been playing guitar for about 15 years (since age 12), 10 years of which were spent mostly on classical guitar. I'm looking to start acquiring at least enough bass playing skills to record some decent bass lines. Until now i've managed quite successfully to either sequence them, or to use an octave shift on my guitar.
Answer:
I have found the string spacing on my Peavey Millenium III to be a minor change from playing guitar. (I have just started playing some bass after 30 years of playing guitar, also for the purpose of recording a few bass lines). That particular model of Peavey seems to be available in a variety of body woods though, depending on the country of manufacture. Mine is constructed from about 6 side by side boards of alder-like wood. The tone and playabilty are quite good, especially in the entry level price range.
