I have a chance to buy a Peavey Mark IV for 180.00 US, is this a good buy. The amp looks and sounds fine
Answer:
If this is the bass amp head, they are prone to limiter problems. I know several bassists who have had them and the amps would develop this problem where the limiter kicks in at lower then normal volume levels. The amp sounds nice and is reasonably powerful. Other then that problem, the amps performed well. Oh, not every one I have seen in action has had this limiter problem, but there have been enough that I thought it worth mentioning.
