Question:
I recently ran across a Peavey T-40 Bass guitar. I am not a bass player, so please forgive my lack of proper lingo. It has a solid wood body, two double-coil pickups, and a pretty beefy-lookin' bridge. (compared to what I have been looking at lately, anyway) I am looking to buy a bass guitar to learn on. Should I even consider this one? Does anybody know anything about Peavey basses - particularly this T-40?
Answer:
My first bass was a Peavey T-40. I thought it was a very good first bass. It does weigh a ton and my shoulder would get very sore after having that thing strapped around my neck for 3 hours. But it plays pretty decent and I never, ever had a problem with it. I bought mine used for $150. Played on it for 4 years and sold it for $150. Heck, I even used it for a couple of studio sessions on a songwriters demo CD.
