Tagged As: Rickenbacker 4003 Bass
Question:
I bought a Rickenbacker Bass 4001 in 1975 ( a black one of course), today I was in a musical store an found a Rickenbacker 4003. Does anyone have the story on the bass, is there a model 4002 ??? How about the changes?
Answer:
I have a 4003, I think the main difference is the 4003 had 2 trussrods.I believe this was to take into consideration that players were using roundwound strings on them. Personally I'm using flats and had to adjust the trussrods on mine myself!!( if you get the balance between the 2 wrong, the fretboard will part company with the neck so i'm told...so no pressure!!!!) The neck pickup is also set a little further back (but I'm not sure why).
