Question:
I am thinking about buying the 4003 Rickenbacker bass. It has Stereo output. I do not know much about this can someone tell me about it. Also do I need a special head to run this stereo effect. I am thinking about the SVT-4 Pro Ampeg head? I already have the SVT- 810E cabinet. Also where is a very good place to but this equipment.
Answer:
It has two separate outputs, one is your standard 1/4 mono output which can be used with any amp. The other is a 1/4 stereo output. With the stereo output, you can get the Rickenbacker Rick-o-Sound box, which is a little expensive (like $50 or so) or you can just go out an buy a 1/4 Stereo to dual 1/4 Mono patch cable. Most studio/DJ equipment providers will carry these. The point of it is to attach each to a separate amp. I've got my bass pickup connected to a Vox amp, and my treble pickup connect to a Crate practice amp. It sounds very sweet.
