Tagged As: Rickenbacker Serial Numbers

In a fit of organisation I decided to keep a note of my guitars' serial numbers, just in case. The trouble is, I can't find any number on my Rickenbacker 4003 bass (1999 model). Surely there is one? But where?
Answer:
Well I found it - it's on the jack socket plate on the edge. I must say I find this a bit strange - an easily replaceable (or forgeable) bit of metal used for the serial number? Why can't they emboss it into the wood like on, er, virtually every other guitar in the universe
