Question:
I'm looking at buying a new guitar, and a guy at a shop (who I know, he sold me my first Ibanez 4 years ago) showed me some Washburn Custom Shop guitars that they had. They're the only ones in Australia apparently (which I can believe) and they're retail value is supposedly around AUD $3,000 but the store is trying to clear them so they're selling them for around AUD $1,500. The model in particular that i'm looking at is the WM100.
Answer:
I think you should consider whether you're going to be using this guitar for a while more than the cost because if you do buy it and do want to sell it, you're gonna have a hard time getting anywhere near what it's worth because it doesnt have the reputation/name recognition of fender/gibson or even prs. when i scan through 'the trader' every thurs looking for potential bargains, when it comes to instruments only fender/gibson register for me because i know what they look and feel/play like and the chance of it not being a lemon. i dont think i even look at other brands no matter what the model & cost is unless im looking for something specific. you'd only sell this guitar to someone that was looking for that guitar while a more recognised brand will get noticed by people no matter what they're looking for.
