Question:
I'm lookin to get an electric guitar for christmas... I got an acoustic last year and would like to learn to play electric now as well... My price range isn't really too high, I just want somethin that'll sound decent. Here's the ones I'm lookin at online someplace, anyone have any opinions?
Answer:
It's not just the guitar that has to sound decent, it's the setup. Allow $30-$75 for a good setup job. A good tech can make almost any axe play like butter, and a guitar that's not set up right, even if it's a $3,500 Paul Reed Smith, will be hard to play and will sound like crap. Many first-time guitar buyers don't realize this.
