Anyone got a Yamaha RBX170 bass? The RBX170 seems to be an entry level bass from Yamaha -- £135 is the cheapest I have seen on the web.

have played a mates's one and found it to be a surprisingly good entry level bass. Yamaha are one of the few big manufactures who a) take care in making cheap instrumnets as much as the top of the range ones, and b) give a damn about bass, and don't treat it as am after thought to complement their guitar line, and to make a bit of profit. I'd personally much rather go for one of these than a Squier P or J.
