I know Yamaha pianos and accoustic guitars are good, what about their electrics?

Answer:
Yamaha makes alot of guitars, but generally they are priced to compete with Fender Squires and the Epiphone guitars. So what guitarist worth his licks would be seen with a cheapo Yamaha. Me for one, with a slightly modified 120S model, or a slightly modified Pacifica 302S model. Both are tele copies and I have added a center pickup on both of them. I do that on any tele I own, no matter who makes it. If you look at the user-reviews at harmonycentral.com, you will see alot of satisfied customers of Yamaha guitars. I am one of them. They offer great specs and excellent build quality, notwithstanding the low price. I like telecasters a lot, I think that Yamaha tele copies are the best, they compete head to head with many American made Fenders, let alone the foreign production. Over the years they have offered some more expensive 'super-strat' guitars, but that is a highly competitive niche and there are lots of high-brow names in that game. I guess Yamaha sells a few, like everybody else.
