Question:
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with playing live with a stereo signal going to the PA and a click going to just headphones. The setup I was planning to use was laptop running Cubase SX with one of the tracks set as midi which would trigger a cowbell in a sampler or v-drums and having that just going to my headphones. I would like not to have to use the laptop as these things tend to go bang just when you need them. so, the sampler could do almost everything... I think, but would that give me stereo outs to the PA? I only have the two outputs in the sampler (Akai S2000).

Answer:
You'll need some other tone generator to do the click track. If you're going to have Cubase run the sequence, you may as well set up the click track to run to the laptops own output. I'm presuming you are using only the Akai sampler for main sounds, and the laptop sound is thus otherwise unused.
