I have some questions for guitar collectors So do u all only collect well-known guitars like Gibson Les Pauls, Fender Stratocasters? Or is it ok to collect those cheapo guitar as well? I wanted to start this hobby of collecting guitars. Actually sometimes i find those less well known (and cheaper) guitars more slick and sexy. Any comments?

People collect all sorts of guitar, for all sorts of reasons. It is true that LP's and Strats get a lot more recognition, though. Some people collect one kind of guitar (all Tele's, for example) Some collect all one brand (All Gretsch, maybe) Some collect all one color (well, maybe!) Some collect guitars that were used by celebrities (I don't mean the actual guitars, but the same models). For instance, I know of a person who has a collection of Beatles related guitars. Some collect to have a wide variety of tones available. Some collect because time has passed, and they never got rid of anything.Then start. If you want a collection of cheapo's, have at it and have fun. Ever hear of Tiesco Del Rey? I think it's a psuedonym, but he's your man. The best reason to collect is because you like what you are collecting. DON'T collect in order to get rich someday. Wanna buy a truckload of beanie babies? Baseball cards?
