How to sync DA-38 with Alesis SR-16?

Tagged As: Alesis Sr 16

Question:
I'm midi-ignorant and would like to know how I can sync an Alesis SR-16 drum machine to a TASACAM DA-38. I'd like to add/replace some percussion tracks to existing tracks recorded on the DA38. I *did* keep track of the original BPM.

Answer:
Since the DA-38 with the MMC-38 can only output MIDI time code, you will need a device which can read time code and output MIDI clock: a sequencer or such. The drum machine itself is not time code savvy, so the sequencer is needed to convert the timecode to MIDI clocks, which the SR-16 can read.
