Differences between Behringer mixer and Tapco?

Tagged As: Behringer Mixer

Question:
I need to mix together a few signals for a few live shows and I have very limited shelf space. Assuming I don't get an ART Powermix thing, is it safe to assume that a Tapco will be quieter/more reliable/etc. than a similar Behringer mixer? Say a Tapco Mix 50 vs. a Behringer UB50? Has anyone had the displeasure of comparing these things?

Answer:
No, it's not safe to assume that, but it's safe to assume that the difference will be little enough so that, on your limited budget, you shouldn't care. If you don't like Behringer on general (or some specific) principles, buy the TAPCO. If you don't like Mackie on general (of some specific) principles, buy the Behringer. Frankly, I find black panels easier to get around on than silver, so I'd buy the TAPCO. That's the kind of differences you should be considering. Unless you have some unusual requirements, either will do your job adequately.
