>Are the Berhringer Powered Mixers worth buying ? Or do you get what you pay >for ? In my opinion, powered mixers are never worth buying and cannot provide value commeasurate with their price. Compared to individual components, they: * remove the ability to mix at FOH with the power amps at the stage, * subject your entire system to a single point failure, * scrimp on the quality of their sub-sections in order to meet their target price, * are less flexible to interconnect than individual components, * provide no way to upgrade sub-sections except to completely replace, * etc. The reason they sell, of course, is that they offer convenience for amateurs who don't care about their drawbacks.
