Question:
I want to record voice and guitar using my computer with minimum investment. I have a good mic (sm 58), a great Taylor acoustic guitar, and a P3 computer with 512 gigs of RAM. I want to make simple four track recordings. It will be used as a demo to market myself to other musicians to form a band so it doesn't need to be super high quality....after I get a job then I can upgrade.

-There are devices like the M-Audio USB Pre which have both low-impedance, balanced mic inputs for your shure SM59, AND high-impedance inputs for instruments, AND decent A/D and D/A converters which plug into your computer via the USB port.
