Settled on Pioneer 440, audio now OK--Converters?

Tagged As: Pioneer Audio

Question:
I first got a Daewoo 5000 ($99), then Pioneer 440 ($159) and then tried Onkyo 353 ($199). The Daewoo seemed to have the best audio of the three. I found the Pioneer video most satisfactory of the group, and especially liked being able to adjust sharpness, etc.. The Onkyo audio was quite good.

Answer:
Radio Shack and Circuit City both sell the composite-to-RF modulators. If you still have the Daewoo 5000, you can change the firmware to bypass Macrovision. Check the www.nerd-out.com forums for info. Also, some VCR's have no problem passing through the video even if Macrovision is enabled; the problem only shows up in record mode.
