Question:
I'm in search of a hard case for my Guild D-15. This is a pretty old guitar--I bought it myself in the early '80s I believe. I recently went to a tech who assured me he had a dreadnought case that would fit it. Nope. Apparently the body is that of a typical dreadnought, but the headstock and/or the neck is slightly extra long. He suggested I get a case for a 12-string. Anyone have any suggestions, aside from the 12-string case idea? If I were to measure the guitar, which measurements exactly do I need for determining an appropriate case (like, 1) total length from endpin to tip of headstock, 2) height from bottom of neck heel to top of fretboard, etc.)?
Answer:
You should be able to get a case for your Guild of this brand *TKL* However keep in mind that these are not flight cases. http://www.tkl.com/ If you can't order it direct have your local guitar shop order you one. Try a case made for a dreadnaught 12-string guitar. My Guild G-37 fits nicely into an SKB molded plastic case made for one.
