Question:
I broke the tape when I was winding fast (very fast...) a tape on my Ampex 350 recorder. A pity because the tape has some real fine pianomusic.
Answer:
This is something that you can do yourself. Given the age of the tape, it may be wise to wear rubber gloves so as not to contaminate the calandared surface oxide with the oils from your fingers.
