I recently ordered a Fostex MR-8 digital recorder. It looks like the best idea for home recording for about $300, if you are also using a computer to tweak your wav file. The MR-8 mixes down, then transfers wav files to computer via USB. Very clean, pristine wav file of your music to work with. Anyone have experience or comments of the Fostex MR-8 ??

I swore off Fostex way back when the original 250 4-track was available. I only had it for two years but if something could go wrong...it would. Worst thing was it was intermitant problems so I ended up taking it for repair ten times & they kept telling me there was nothing wrong with it.
