Tagged As: Fostex Vf80ex 8 Track Recorder
Question:
I've finally narrowed down my choices for a new 8-track digital recorder to the following three units: Fostex MR-8 ($300), Boss BR-864 ($400) and Fostex VF80EX ($550). What I like about the VF80EX is the hard drive and CD burner (no buying new CompactFlash cards in the future) although I would prefer a unit with just the hard drive (less expensive) since I could burn the CDs on my desktop computer.

I have an MR8 and it sounds good but the flash card storage system is really quite usless, it runs out two quickly and is costly in the long run. I tried to buy a VF80 but it was discontinued at the time and this new FV80EX was not out at that time, I don't know of any differences between the two but I would think that Fostex would keep a good thing going
