Guitar Cases - SKB, TKL, or What?

Tagged As: Gretsch Guitar Cases

Question:
I have a line on a used Epiphone ES-295 but it doesn't come with a case. I have an SKB for my Strat and it seems good but I don't know if they make SKB cases for archtop electrics which are about 3 inches deep (or thick as some might think of it). Not to mention it has a Bigsby type vibrato on it. If there are SKBs like that how much do they run for? Also, how are TKL cases? Are they any good? Or are SKB better? How much do the TKL cases cost too? How much are the Guild cases too? Maybe a Guild case would work. I don't mind the guitar saying Epiphone and the case saying Guild. Last but not least, how to Epiphone cases compare to TKL, SKB, and Guild and any others that might fit the guitar. Gretsch is another one that comes to mind but those might be even more than Guild cases.

Answer:
I recently purchased an Epiphone Dot. It's funny that you ask how Epiphone cases compare to TKL cases because the Epiphone cases actually are TKL cases. Mine seems pretty nice to me. I also have a Martin case made by TKL. Now that's a nice case. Both of them get the job done...and both look great on the inside.
