Question:
Does anyone on the newsgroup have a Gibson hard case (to fit a Les Paul Classic 1960) that they might want to sell for a fair price?
Answer:
If you can try and pick up an old Gibson Protector case from the early eighties. I've reversed a car into mine, kicked it down a flight of stone steps, launched it down the street, as well as the more usual knocks and bangs. Nothing more than the 1st string detuning slightly. My Les Paul looks and plays beautifully. I would not attempt any of the above with any other (including Hiscox) case. IIRC the material was the same as something they had designed for the space shuttle, so any tricky re-entries into the Earth's atmosphere, your planks going to be OK.
