FUQ (eff -yu - cue) - FAQ's with an EDGE

I new to guitar and heard that it is easier to play Stairway to Heaven (Zepplin) if you hold chords and play the notes individual.  I was wondering if anyone had a list of those chords?

Answer:
I have the tab + mp3 on my site on the rip-offs section http://www.guitar-inferno.yucom.be Well if you look at the tab, you can see that it shifts every measure, and on the recording you can sometimes here him sliding down to the D. They would be odd chords, I recommend you just look at the tab and place your fingers down in such a way that you only move your hand minimally. I missed the earlier posts but are you talking about in the intro where Page goes quickly to the open D? If so, what I do is sometimes play the D in the 5th position for easier transition. But then again, sometimes I'm a purist and like to try to do the original transition. That sure is a tough one to nail without breaking the flow of the song. A simple chord, just a hard one to transfer to quickly. After a few years of trying to go to that four-finger D/F# shape I had a revelation that you could play it with your first finger  barring the top three strings at the 2nd fret and your 2nd and 3rd holding the other notes. Since you play the top and bottom notes first, you just have to make the basic bar shape on time and then you've got a fraction of a second to put your second finger down before you have to play that note, if you see what I mean... I’ve recorded the intro as it is actually played by Page and you'll find the tab too http://www.guitar-inferno.yucom.be
