Question:
I’ve been playing acoustic and electric guitar for a long time I’ve been studio bound and just used the rack stuff that was there for effects. I am starting to gig again but since the old days the effects choices have changed dramatically so I could really use some helping filtering the choices. I want your standard array of stomp box effects that will give me the sounds you would expect from your mellow end of 70’s classic rock. I don’t need any screaming distortion or wild effect. I have to have something that can take punishment and prefer to have a something not so new so that others have found out if it stays working for long. Budget is important but I don’t want a cheapo sounding toy. I also don’t need a massive rack of simulated amps. I have a pod if I decide to use modeling but I am also not opposed to having a box that does it, I just don’t want to pay a bunch for something I don’t really need. Any advice will be a God send for me?
Answer:
Are you looking for some sort of overdrive or distortion pedal rather than something like a chorus or whatever or are you looking for something that has multiple effects? I am looking for multi effects in one easy to use box. Just looking without trying the Boss ME-50 Guitar Multiple Effects looks cool but I don't know and don't have the time in to compare very well. (and I would like to spend a little less if I can) I think chorus, reverb and delay are top on the list but other stuff is good to.
