Question:
I know the VG-88 requires of a special mike for better performance, what makes it quite expensive. I will appreciate opinions on all the above. I am not interested in distortion effects, but more in variety and quality of sound effects. I have a Fender Stratocaster guitar and Fender Ultimate Chorus amplifier and a few good quality amps, mixers, etc. please help me decide about guitar effects equipment ?

I had both the Korg G3 and the Zoom 505. They are about the least expensive multi-effects pedals you can get. Usually used for about 40 to 50 bucks. It depends on how much experience the young guitar player has. The Korg does not have as wide a range of sounds as the Zoom 505. But, the switching from one effects patch to another is a bit faster. It also looks a bit nicer or cooler than the Zoom 505. I preferred using my fingers to switch effects patches with the Zoom505 which is smaller. Instructions and patches for different effects are more readily available for the Zoom 505. Some of the patches are really noisy, wild, unreal and horrible (the stuff that kids love
