Tagged As: How To Play Guitar Scale
Question:
I'm a pretty decent guitarist. But I dont know anything about scales and what they are or how to use them. I find it difficult to play guitar-solos because I dont know which notes to play on the guitar. And also to write songs because I'm not sure which chords that should follow each other. A lot of people have tried to explain this to me and I've tried to read many books, but I don't seem to get it really.... Is there any good site on the internet?
Answer:
Tale a look at this list of links. They will start you on the road to understanding. There are pages on the first link that will deal exactly with the chords that come from scales. If you want this information, much of it is there, including a simple animated gif of a C major scale for the first position and an animated gif of the simple chords that go with the scale. And some diagrams of how to figure out the chords yourself. My free newsletter this month, discusses the very beginning of this. http://www.uncletim.com/answers.htm http://www.uncletim.com/utfy-scale.htm Here is the introductory link to my free newsletter. You may want to read the article called The Playground. http://www.uncletim.com/oct15 Here is a link to my book Uncle Tim's Building Blocks. http://www.uncletim.com/utbb.htm This book is about diatonic and pentatonic scales. It is designed to be easy (keep in mind, it is rated intermediate to advanced). It will even explain my experiences (in my early days, I failed twice before getting it right). If you need specific help, I believe I can help you. Scales are easy and they can be fun (honest). And they will do all the things people tell you they will, if you get it right. They are the only sure way of becoming a lead guitarist.
