Question:
I'm learning to play the spanish guitar (with a guitar pick, not with the fingers), and I'm wondering if is hard to switch to the electric guitar or the acustic guitar once you have gain a ceartain level.
Answer:
Many of us have several guitars. It takes a few minutes to make a switch, but it's not that bad. I read somewhere that you should be able to pick up any guitar and play it. When you think about it, it's not a bad thing to be able to do. The biggest change is generally the neck width, and if you've been playing only one neck width, and your fingering and chords are now automatic, you will notice your fingers don't want to go to the right place for a bit. Also, the wider neck on a classical allows your fingers to be off a bit when it comes to left hand technique. On the narrower neck of an acoustic or electric you may find your fingers catching more than one string, but you'll adjust. I just got my first classical, and I'm not having much trouble making the adjustment -- and I'm not that great a player.
