Question:
Iīm quite frustrated! Today I went out and bought a Yamaha Pacifica 112 to start playing E-Guitar. I was very careful operating it, but suddenly I came slightly against the edge of a plastic chair standing in my room. Unfortunately, because of the soft wood of the guitar body (alder) there is now a place where the lac is off and there is a little dent in it. It is also a bit difficult, cause itīs wood-imitation lac (Yamaha calls it Natural Satin). Do you know if there is a possibility to get this fixed? Are there special reapir-kits existing? I could imagine that this also happened to some other people before - so what did you do then?
Answer:
Guitar Player has a repair guide that goes into detail about fixing dings. I've repaired dings in an acoustic of mine by using stain, successive layers of super glue and meticulous sanding. The repair guide will give you details on this procedure.
