Wedding Processional Music on Classical Guitar

Question:
Well, in typical fashion, the client for my solo wedding is changing the repertoire. Villa-Lobos is still in, just not as processional...so I need suggestions for a nice opener - something to mark the occasion. THEY HAVE REQUESTED NO PACHIBEL!!! NO NORAH JONES EITHER! But they have left it up to me... Suggestions?

Answer:
How about Air on the G String or Ave Maria  There paced at about the right speed for processionals and are pretty standard. I recently used Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 as prelude music.  Each movement is only a couple minutes long, so you can adjust the piece for how long you need, plus it's pretty easy to play. There's a really nice arrangement of it at this website (under 'more solo'): http://www.eythorsson.com/ Shouldn’t it be Stairway to Heaven Nice Day For A White Wedding? Thanks guys...i decided on Side 2 of Abbey Road! Just kidding! Belle Qui Tiens Ma Vie   daveA -- The only technical exercises for all guitarists worth a lifetime of practice: Dynamic Guitar Technique.  Nothing else is close. Free download:  http://www.openguitar.com/instruction.html     There is a Catalonian folk tune named El Noi de la Mare.  It is a lovely melody with a nice gently strolling rhythm.  I had a good friend play it for our wedding, and I have played it at more than one wedding myself.  Llobet has a very nice arrangement of it that is simple to learn and play. Got it, very nice, thanks...it will work if i need more time. I downloaded the Pepe Romero version from iTunes... It's very sweet, from a cd called songs my father taught me It will be easy to work up. The cello theme from the 4th movement of Brahms’s 1st symphony. The Newborn of the Mother.  It's a Christmas carol.
