Elixir Guitar Strings

Tagged As:

Question:
I wonder if anyone has experience of using Elixir strings for classical guitar? They've been recommended to me by a friend who says they are the best thing to have happened to the guitar in decades. However another friend says he has tried them and that they are complete waste of time, effort and money and that no one should touch them. I guess I will have to try them out for myself but I would appreciate any other comments and perspectives based on experience.

Answer:
Best strings are savarez the low tension (white cover) to start with demand a very good exceptional) guitar neck. Then you can increase the tension every year. if you start with high tension(red cover) you risk physical damage in the wrist, and bye bye guitar. So strings are the most important for a healthy life. Low tension (might be all you need for a few years), medium, (one or even 2 years later) and high tension (if you feel kind of superman). Lower the tension, better you relax and you get feeling in what you doing and speed. I don't know about those strings...(a search through google will turn up some recent threads about Elixir's) but your friends are certainly not given to understatement.
